We will get an exclusive peek at Idaho State University’s NSAC Presentation for Pizza Hut along with all the creative, and copies of the case and plans book they designed and submitted.

This lunch will be a great way to see some of the freshest talent coming out of our area and hear all about the behind-the-scenes of working on a campaign for a national client.

What is NSAC? According to the officials…
“Each year the American Advertising Federation (AAF) partners with a major corporate client to challenge over 200 college chapters across the country to develop an integrated marketing campaign for a specific product, service or brand aimed at diverse target markets. The corporate sponsor provides a case study outlining the company’s campaign objective, the history of its product and its current advertising situation. The case study reflects a real-world situation facing the company. Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problem areas and collaborate to devise a completely integrated marketing campaign for the client.

AAF college chapter teams conduct primary and secondary research that reveals consumer insights; identifies the target market’s wants and needs; and pinpoints how to effectively communicate the client’s message. Students use consumer databases such as Ad-ology, Experian Simmons, Nielsen and SRDS to help define the target market and their media habits. They also conduct primary research in the form of personal interviews, surveys and focus groups.

Students then develop a comprehensive campaign that includes creative executions, media placement, public relations, special events and various other promotional tools that speak to the target audience.

After submitting a written marketing plan to AAF headquarters in Washington, DC, each team pitches their campaign to a panel of industry judges, starting at their NSAC district competition. There is also an option to compete virtually at the district level. The winning team(s) in each district then advances to compete for one of eight spots at the national level, which takes place at the AAF ADMERICA! National Conference in June. The top three teams will be selected as national winners.”
