Gem Wars Over: Order restored in galaxy.

The 2016 Gem Awards Show was the best yet. Emcee Mike Nelson and the staff at IE Productions put on a captivating spectacle, somehow appealing to Star Wars nerds and regular people alike. If you missed it, you are one light saber short of an amazing swagbag. AlphaGraphics came away with the night’s top honors, tons of winners were crowned, and the year’s best creative was presented. Here’s a full list of this year’s winners.

The judging is complete! The winners of the 2015 GEM Awards have been selected – come and see the most creative stuff from Eastern Idaho! The show will be at the Idaho Falls Country Club. Food, drinks and mingling are from 6:30-7:30 p.m., with the awards presentations beginning thereafter. Tickets are available now!

The CEO of REDI (Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho), Jan Rogers, will be our guest speaker.

Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho  was established in April 2015 as a public/private partnership established to help diversify and strengthen the economies of the fourteen counties of Eastern Idaho by retaining and attracting business to the region.

As CEO of REDI, Ms. Rogers will work closely with community partners to promote economic development through expansion of existing business and by implementing a focused consistent marketing program to attract new businesses to the region.

Prior to joining REDI, Ms. Rogers was the Executive Director for the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization (SIEDO) for 14 years.  She has also spoken or participated as a panelist at several national, state and local economic development conferences. Since 2013, Rogers has been invited by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and the U.S. government’s business investment initiative, SelectUSA, to attend the annual White House Economic Development Forum.  Ms. Rogers is currently on the board of directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and is also past president of the Idaho Economic Development Association (IEDA).

Lunch & Learn: 2016 Gem Awards!

Gem Awards season is upon us once again – time to look back through the past year’s projects and get ready to show off your best work at the 2016 Gem Awards!

In preparation, this month’s Lunch & Learn is all about the Gems. Steve Fischbach, director of the IFAF Gem Awards Committee will get us all up-to-speed on everything we need to know about changes to this year’s competition and how it will affect participants. You’ll also be able to pick up entry packets and submission envelopes … so, mark your calendars now and make plans to attend!

The Gem Awards is our biggest event of the year, and your attendance at this luncheon will help make sure that this year’s awards will be the best ever!

Join us Thursday, October 15th for a special Lunch & Learn with Sean J. Coletti from Hopkins Roden Crockett Hansen & Hoopes Law Firm. This month’s presentation, Keeping it Legal : Make Sure Your Advertising Message Doesn’t Get You in Hot Water, will focus on legal issues surrounding advertising and social media – important issues we all face every day!

Sean is a partner in the firm and joined the practice in 2007. His practice includes both litigation and transactional work, focusing on the areas of business law, contracts, commercial law, insurance defense, family law, planning and zoning, real property, personal injury and general litigation.

Sean was born in Provo, Utah in 1977. He grew up in Utah and Idaho, and is a 1995 Rigby High School graduate. From 1996-1998, Mr. Coletti served as a foreign missionary in Seoul, Korea. Following his experience overseas, he joined the United States Army National Guard, where he served for six years as a Counterintelligence Agent and Korean linguist.

Sean attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2001. He then received his law degree in 2005 from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, Sean served as Executive Editor of the Connecticut Law Review, where his article, Taking Account of Partial Exemptors in Vaccination Law, Policy and Practice was published in 2004.

Sean served as a law clerk to Honorable John C. Hohnhorst, Idaho Fifth Judicial District after law school, then served as law clerk to Chief Justice F. Michael Kruse and Associate Justice Lyle L. Richmond, of the High Court of American Samoa.

Sean is a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, Idaho State Bar, Wyoming State Bar, American Samoa Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before Idaho’s state and federal courts.

Sean is currently serving his second four-year term on the Ammon City Council, a position to which he was first elected in 2009. He also volunteers as an attorney in the Court Appointed Special Advocate program and for the Idaho State Bar, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce and the Idaho Health Facilities Authority.

Sean and his wife Jessi are the proud parents of two sons. They enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, traveling, performing music together, and spending time as a family.
